Frequently asked questions

General

What does migration weekend look like? (Policy Terminator only)

You will be asked to choose to migrate on one of the available ‘migration weekends’. On the Friday evening of your selected migration weekend, TR ODEN will be placed in read-only mode at 8pm Central Time (US). Once in read-only mode, you will only be able to view existing notices and settings, and not make any changes to TR ODEN.

CUBE will kick-start your data migration shortly thereafter. The duration of the data migration will depend on how many historical notices are stored in your TR ODEN environment and whether you wish to migrate them all or only a sub-set. For the vast majority, the data migration will complete in a few hours. However, the larger the volume of notices, the longer it will take.

Outliers: If the volume of notices requires a longer period to migrate, your Customer Success Manager will be in touch to notify you of the extended period to complete. This will mean that your data migration will continue to run in the background while you move into production on CUBE Oden.

On completion of your data migration, a data reconciliation report will automatically be generated and sent to you and your Customer Success Manager for your records.

Following the migration weekend, your CUBE Oden environment will move into a go-live state on Monday at 7am Eastern Time, at which point, you can commence your usual daily Oden operations in CUBE. For a period of approximately 30 days, you will have access to TR ODEN, read-only mode, for reference purposes. The exact duration of dual access will be confirmed by your Customer Success Manager.

What if an issue occurs in migrating my data over my chosen migration weekend? (Policy Terminator only)

If we happen to encounter an unexpected error that prevents us from completing your data migration as planned, we will notify you immediately and restore production access on TR ODEN so you have no interruption of service. Your Customer Success Manager will then reach out to you to reschedule your migration for another weekend.

How do I access CUBE Oden?

You will receive details to access CUBE Oden via email.

For those with Policy Terminator, at first access will be restricted to the Help Center which will contain all the details you will need along your migration journey. When your Training and Readiness period starts, you will be informed via email, and those same sign-in details can be used to access the sandbox for training, testing and general familiarization of CUBE Oden prior to your chosen migration weekend.

If you need further support, please contact your Customer Success Team.

Will my sign-in details change?

Yes, your sign-in information will change. Please follow the instructions in your welcome email.

For those with Policy Terminator, before the start of your Training and Readiness period with sandbox access, which is granted a minimum of 5 weeks prior to your data migration weekend, all admin users will be provided with sign-in details via email to CUBE Oden. Admins will then add all other end users. If you do not receive this then please get in touch with your Customer Success Team. Your sign-in details will remain unchanged from your sandbox environment provided during your Training and Readiness period to production.

Can I still access my current subscription to TR ODEN?

For those with Policy Terminator, during your Training and Readiness period with sandbox access to CUBE Oden, you will continue to use your existing TR ODEN subscription for all day-to-day operations. When you upgrade to CUBE Oden on your selected cutover weekend, your access to TR ODEN will be accessible in read-only mode for a period approximating 30 days, after which access to your legacy TR ODEN subscription will cease entirely.

For those with ODEN Online only or ODEN Track subscriptions, your access to TR ODEN will

Please contact your Customer Success Manager for further support.

Can I get access earlier? (Policy Terminator only)

Yes, should you wish to have sandbox access earlier than 5 weeks prior to your migration weekend, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager who can arrange earlier access to CUBE Oden. Upon completion of your data migration over your selected weekend, you will then sign in to CUBE Oden using the same sandbox access sign in details.

Who do I contact if there is a technical issue?

For those with Policy Terminator, if you have any questions or feedback during your Training and Readiness prior with sandbox access, please use the in-product feedback form to let us know. Alternatively, you may reach out to your Customer Success Manager.

Once live on CUBE Oden, please reach out to our Customer Support team at CUBEOden.support@cube.global who will direct your query to the appropriate team for resolution.

Will our existing data, such as historical notices, policy information and configurations be migrated to the new platform? (Policy Terminator only)

Customers can start with a brand-new database, or CUBE can work with you to migrate your existing Policy Terminator database to CUBE Oden. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for support.

Do I need to re-add my users when I move from my Training & Readiness period with sandbox to production on CUBE Oden? (Policy Terminator only)

No, your user logins will be ported over from your sandbox environment to production. Therefore, all users should use the same sign-in details they created to access the Help Center and, subsequently, their sandbox environment during the Training and Readiness period. However, users will need to reset their passwords for the new production environment, and they will receive an email to help them do so on their go-live date.

How long does a typical migration take from kick-off to completion? (Policy Terminator only)

We anticipate a minimum of 5 weeks, depending on customer requirements (e.g. API integration), to be fully enabled, trained and migrated. The data migration in isolation should complete within your selected weekend, starting at 8pm Central Time (US) on the Friday prior to your cutover to production.

Are updates or enhancements planned for the API?

CUBE Oden follows a monthly release schedule with patches and enhancements. The application will be enhanced frequently, and the API will be updated from time to time. The CUBE Oden Help Center will be updated regularly with release notes, and one previous rolling version of the API will remain supported.

Is CUBE Oden fully replacing ODEN Policy Terminator and ODEN Online?

Yes, CUBE Oden replaces Thomson Reuters ODEN Policy Terminator and ODEN Online. CUBE Oden is cloud-based, centralizes all Oden capabilities in one modern interface, and introduces several new features and benefits.

What support and training will we receive during the migration period? (Policy Terminator only)

Walkthroughs, videos, in-app guidance, guides and more will be available in your sandbox Help Center to support your migration journey. Weekly drop-in sessions will also be arranged from mid-September to support your training needs.  You may also wish to reach out to your Customer Success Manager with any questions.

Do I need a new CUBE contract at switchover?

We are in active conversations with most TR ODEN customers regarding their new CUBE contract. In the event that we are unable to re-contract you prior to your migration weekend due to timing, we will endeavor to do so after. Those customers not re-contracted with CUBE will remain under their existing contract until their renewal date. Your Customer Success Manager will be in touch in advance of your renewal date to ensure contractual and vendor onboarding needs are met.

I need to run a new vendor risk assessment; how can I do this?

Unless you have already re-contracted to CUBE, your 2026 upgrade to CUBE Oden will not be a re-contracting event and should therefore not necessitate full vendor onboarding (including vendor risk assessment).  You will remain under your existing contract until your next renewal date, at which point you will be re-contracted to CUBE. Your Customer Success Manager will be in touch ahead of your renewal date to ensure you have what you need for any vendor onboarding processes to be met and to answer any questions you or your legal team may have on the CUBE contract.

What happens to my existing contract?

Unless you have already re-contracted to CUBE or are in active talks to do so before your migration weekend, your existing contract will remain in place until your renewal date. In which case, your Customer Success Manager will be in touch to discuss moving onto a CUBE contract ahead of your next renewal date.

I thought my existing contract was with Thomson Reuters?

CUBE acquired the Thomson Reuters’ solution, ODEN, on December 31, 2024, therefore all existing contracts were assigned to CUBE from that date.

For more information on the acquisition, please go here.

Financial

Who will I receive my invoice from?

From the end of your dual run period (for those with Policy Terminator), and no later than December 1, 2026, CUBE will issue all future invoices, and all payments will be made to CUBE for your CUBE Oden subscription.

When will I receive my new invoice?

CUBE will issue your invoice to your billing contact in line with your current billing terms for service delivered from the end of your dual run period (if you have Policy Terminator), and no later than November 30, 2026. Payment will be due within 30 days of the invoice date.

For those with Policy Terminator, the end of your dual run period, from which point CUBE will issue your invoice, will depend on the combination of your go-live date on CUBE Oden and your billing frequency. For those on quarterly or annual billing, your dual run period will end 30 days following your go-live date on CUBE Oden. For those on monthly billing, your dual run period will end on the last day of the calendar month closest to when your 30-day dual run period would have ended.

Regardless, all customers will be migrated by November 30, 2026, with invoicing on service delivered by CUBE no later than December 1, 2026.

Your Customer Success Manager will confirm this with you as part of your migration journey.

Who do I contact to onboard CUBE to my procurement platform?

If you need to onboard CUBE onto your procurement platform, please get in touch with your Customer Success Manager, who will support you.

Working with Thomson Reuters & CUBE

I currently subscribe to multiple Thomson Reuters products. Will all my TR products be affected by this change?

No. Only your TR ODEN subscription is migrating to CUBE Oden. For those of you who also have a TRRI subscription, please visit here. All other Thomson Reuters products you subscribe to (such as Checkpoint, Practical Law, Westlaw, or other TR solutions) will remain unchanged. You’ll continue to access these products through your existing TR accounts with no interruption to service.

Will I need separate logins for TR and CUBE products?

Yes. Once you migrate to CUBE Oden, you’ll have separate login credentials for your CUBE Oden subscription and your remaining Thomson Reuters products. You’ll receive your CUBE Oden login details via email when sandbox access is granted, which will then be ported over to production. Your existing TR login will continue to work for all other TR products you subscribe to.

Who do I contact for product support if I have both TR and CUBE subscriptions?

For CUBE Oden product questions or issues, contact CUBE Customer Support at cubeoden.support@cube.global or reach out to your CUBE Customer Success Manager. For all other Thomson Reuters products, continue using your existing TR support channels and account team. Each organization manages its own processes independently, but your CUBE Customer Success Manager can help direct you to the right team if you’re unsure.

Will I receive separate invoices from TR and CUBE?

Yes, and it's critical that you pay each invoice to the correct organization. You'll receive separate invoices for your CUBE Oden subscription and your remaining Thomson Reuters products:

  • CUBE invoices must be paid directly to CUBE using the payment details provided on the CUBE invoice

  • Thomson Reuters invoices must be paid to Thomson Reuters using your existing TR payment methods

Important: Please ensure your accounts payable team is aware that you now work with two separate vendors. Sending payment to the wrong organization will delay processing and could impact your service access. Each invoice will clearly show the vendor's name and payment instructions - please review carefully before processing payment. If a payment is sent to the wrong organization by mistake, contact both your CUBE Customer Success Manager and your TR account team immediately to help redirect it.

Will my company's procurement/vendor relationships be affected?

If you maintain both TR and CUBE subscriptions, your company will have vendor relationships with both organizations. You may need to onboard CUBE as a new vendor in your procurement system while maintaining your existing Thomson Reuters vendor setup. Your CUBE Customer Success Manager can provide any documentation needed for vendor onboarding.

I have a TR enterprise agreement covering multiple products. How does this affect my pricing?

If not discussed ahead of your renewal, on your next renewal date, our CUBE Oden subscription will be priced and contracted separately from any TR enterprise agreements. Your pricing for remaining TR products should not be affected by the migration of ODEN to CUBE. If you have questions about your specific TR enterprise agreement, please discuss with your TR account team; for questions about your CUBE Oden subscription, please contact your CUBE Customer Success Manager
